Berd just announced the Talon, their own version of the Hook Flange hub which allows for much quicker lacing of Berd’s proprietary spokes.  The Hook Flange design also saves you from having to use special spacers for straight pull hubs or modifying a standard J Bend hub with a grinder to deburr spoke holes before lacing.

The hubs are only available in 28 hole, boost spacing with centerlock brake mounts.  They do offer all 3 driver types, Shimano HG, Shimano Microspline and SRAM’s XD freehub driver.

The hubs use a dual-sprung 36 tooth ratchet mechanism currently with Berd promising a 54 tooth freehub coming soon.

The hubs come in at a light weight 306 grams for the rear and 156 for the front and will retail at $495.

If you would like to get your own set up Berd Talon hubs, we are an authorized Berd dealer so be sure to reach out and we can help get you on a new, ultralight set of wheels!
