We always love making parts that are no longer available to keep older, but still very nice bikes running so we were happy to custom machine a shim for a customer who needed to get his older Colnago going.  For those who don’t know, the Colnago C40 and C50 used a 28mm seat post which is extremely rare these days with the only options being used seat posts for hundreds of dollars on ebay or you can still find a Thompson post occasionally.

To make life easier and open some options, we took a 28.6mm to 27.2mm seat post shim and 3d printed some pieces to allow us to turn an existing shim down on the lathe to fit the 28mm seat tube from Colnago.

We don’t plan to stock these shims but if anyone needs one for their own bike we are happy to make them to order so just reach out at the contact form below and we can get you set up with your own.
